Florida Virtual School is currently seeking applications for general consideration for certified instruction-based positions. At this time, we are only considering applicants who reside in the state of Florida. We are currently looking to build our talent pool for adjunct instructional opportunities as student needs arise. The adjunct positions may provide the opportunity to grow into full-time roles---only individuals who have successfully worked with FLVS in an adjunct capacity will be considered for future full-time needs.
The Instructor is responsible for providing a student-centered educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. The position is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program in accordance with FLVS and state policies and laws that results in students achieving academic success. The Instructor is required to work collaboratively to plan, prepare and implement instructional activities to engage and facilitate student success in a virtual environment. The Instructor tracks and analyzes student performance data and develops learning plans, using resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs.

Interview Process and Training:
Candidates considered for an instructional position with FLVS must successfully complete a multi-level interview process, which includes a thorough review of credentials, application and resume information, recent evaluations and phone/in person interviews. The review process may also include a full-day interview and information session located at the FLVS corporate office in Orlando. If selected for a position, new hires must attend a two-day orientation and training session at the FLVS corporate office in Orlando, as well as required virtual training sessions provided thereafter.
For consideration for an instructional-based position, candidates must meet all of the job requirements as listed below:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher
· One year successful teaching experience (within subject area preferred) OR successful completion of an FLVS instructional internship
· Ability to work evening and weekend shifts on a consistent basis, in order to meet student needs; approximately 15 hours per week
· Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area assigned with endorsements as required by Florida Department of Education. See details below:
Physical Education (6-12 or K-12) AND Family and Consumer Science (6-12) or Health Ed (7-12), Health (K-12)
Preference will be given to those candidates that meet the desired job requirements as listed below:
· Be willing to work adjunct and grow into a full-time opportunity
· Three years successful teaching experience preferred
· Florida resident preferred
· Willingness and ability to obtain multiple state and/or content area certifications
